We had both been looking forward to going to Spain, but we never imagined, that we would fall so much in love with the country as we’ve done. After all, Greece had always been our favorite, but in many ways, Spain has become our number one.
Spain is extremely diverse in types of landscapes. From beautiful mountains and dry deserts to sunny beaches and green highlands. Sometimes you don’t have to drive far to enter what seems to be a whole other country landscape wise.
The Spaniards are really thoughtful and accommodating and it’s hard not to fall into conversation with everyone from the guy at the gas station, to the old man at the bench at the city square.
Like many southern countries, Spain is known for Tapas which are small share-size meals eaten together with no fuss. Cheap and diverse. Besides that, stew and country-foods are also on the top of our list of most-liked meals in Spain.
Maybe we love Spain so much because the Spaniards are hedonists just like us. They have taught us about Siesta, about how to calm down, how stuff can be done tomorrow instead of stressing it through today, and how not everything has to be fancy to be full of love.
